Canada Hosts First FEI Young Rider Reining Classes in North America

Horse Sport Enews Email* Ottawa, ON — Y NOT Farms and Equestrian Centre of Meaford, ON was host to the first FEI Young Rider Reining classes ever held in North America.  The young rider classes were part of the FEI CRI 2* Reining event held July 14-15, 2007.Five young riders competed in two classes over the course of the two-day competition.  Darcy Wilson of Goodwood, ON riding Randy Wilson’s Kachina Catalyst was the high-point winner at the end of the event with a cumulative score of 274 points.  Kendra Wharton of Toronto, ON riding Long Island Ice Tea followed closely, with a total of 272 points. Additional riders who made their debut in the FEI Young Rider classes included Ryley Clark of Port Perry, ON riding Hollywood Emma, Kelly Eileen Truesdell of Bright’s Grove, ON riding Tabus in Command, and Russell Truesdell of Bright’s Grove, ON riding IMA Continental Toy.“The FEI Young Rider classes are a great opportunity to introduce riders to International competition, and we were delighted to hold these classes at our event,” stated Ron Lubinski, owner of Y NOT Farms and Equestrian Centre.The competition also featured two FEI senior classes, which were qualifying classes for the 2007 CRI World Reining Masters Final to be held on November 28-29, 2007 in Oklahoma City, OK USA.  We’ll send you our regular newsletter and include you in our monthly giveaways.
