BSJ stages islandwide Fora

first_imgFacebookTwitterWhatsAppEmail PORT ANTONIO — The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ), will be staging a series of public fora islandwide, as part of its ongoing public education programme. These fora will seek to increase public awareness about its roles and functions, as well as to create feedback from its clients and consumers on its effectiveness. According to Public Education and Information Co-ordinator at the BSJ, Ellis Laing, persons will be able to access information on the regulatory responsibilities of the organisation,  including  the importation of goods, compliance in the marketplace, labeling, as well as the registration of food factories. The first forum was  held at the St. Mary Parish Church Hall in Port Maria on  February 2. Others are scheduled for Ocho Rios on February 10; Mandeville on February 15; Santa Cruz on  February 16; May Pen on  February 17,  and Montego Bay on  February 21. Dates for public fora in Lucea, Savanna-la-Mar, Falmouth, Port Antonio, Morant Bay, Old Harbour and Linstead  will be provided.
